Owner managed businesses

Much of our work is with clients who have either grown their own business or who are operating businesses started by generations before them.

Why should we use Nicholas Weston?

We offer seamless business advice and mentoring across a broad range of legal and commercial issues. We solve our client’s problem of replacing the fragmented and expensive advice provided by some law firms with multi-dimensional commercial and legal advice that works, because the person providing it understands what it’s like when it’s your skin-in-the-game.

We are service focused. The relationships we have with our clients are long-term and based on trust, transparency, open communication and doing what we say we are going to do.

How do we do it?

The firm’s Principal, Nick Weston, has been acting for owner operated and family owned businesses for 25 years. He has also served as the CEO of a publicly listed technology company and understands business from an operational rather than just an advisory point of view.

Nick is passionate about going the extra mile to advise business owners and the other professionals who support them to solve the challenges that are faced by the business.

He gets on the phone to get across the context and facts, and provides succinct advice or a draft letter to the other side, as the port of first call. Whether the issue involves funding, a contract, employees, M&A, distribution, trade marks or a dispute, Nick aims to provide sensible advice and value for money.

What can we do for you?

Like most M&A lawyers, we offer technical competence in M&A. We combine this with decades of experience on-the-tools, gained working inside and acting for mid-market tech companies (listed, unlisted and owner operated), giving us an ability to anticipate menaces to navigation and guide you through the options on the path to closing, as we have for others, many, many times previously.
